  8. Denny has recently become one of the world's 'hot spots' for
  9. UFO and paranormal activity, which has brought several inter-
  10. nationally known UFO researchers and two television crews to
  11. the small Central Region town.
  12.  
  13. However, even a cursory glance into the earlier and more rec-
  14. ent history of the country town will show an amazing story of
  15. UFO sightings, crop circles, and ghost sightings.

  17. The current story centres around a local forester and farmer,
  18. James X, who apparently encountered a 'large metallic balloon
  19. with lights' in a small clearing in the woods to the north of
  20. the town.
  21.  
  22. 'It was rotating and seemed out of focus, as if I was seeing
  23. a mirage.  But it was no mirage: My face and upper body still
  24. show the burns it gave me'
  25.  
  26. And indeed, on being found face down by local children, and
  27. subsequently examined by a police surgeon, the burns on Mr Xs
  28. body were 'consistent with a very bad sunburn, or exposure to
  29. high intensity UV light'.  The sun in this part of Scotland
  30. is not sufficient to have caused this.

  32. A few observers have pointed out that he may have been seeing
  33. the virtual image of a far-off sun or planet, focussed by some
  34. strange arrangement of gravity lenses, but this is not held to
  35. to a probably description.
